When I lived in Hays, Havre was the big town we went to for serious shopping or if you needed to see a doctor.  It was 90 miles away.  It could be a dangerous trip in the wintertime, which seemed to last for most of the year in northcentral Montana.  The Milk River breaks are located just outside of town.  The shapes, colors and patterns caused by erosion are truly unique, and the grasses and sage so characteristic of this area of Montana surround the formations.
