Hocking Hills 2015 2018
Hocking Hills is a state park located in southeastern Ohio in the Allegheny foothills. The park has trails that include creeks, streams, and waterfalls. There are spectacular sandstone formations in caves and gorges. Every season in Hocking Hills brings its own unique beauty. The woodlands tribes that lived in this area must have been awed by the beauty of this region. As a nature photographer, the Hocking Hills offers so much opportunity and challenge. The caverns and gorges can be very dark even in mid-day. The variance of light within the same ‘scene’ can be extreme. Sunlight is often harsh when it reflects off the sandstone. Nancy and I have stayed in cabins during the fall, spring and summer and have hiked all of the trails. Challenges aside, being in the Hocking Hills is always a wonderful experience.
