La Jolla 2019
I hadn’t been to the Pacific Ocean since I developed my strong interest in photography. Before I go on a photography adventure, I try to do at least a minimum amount of research. I check the times of sunrise and sunset, moon set and rise and moon phases, and when at the oceans, high and low tides. I also review geography and wildlife. La Jolla is an amazing place. I had visualized taking long exposures at the beach at sunrise and sunset with foregrounds of beautiful rock formations. When Nancy and I arrived at our hotel room, I removed my tripod from the suitcase. It was broken. My week in La Jolla took on a totally different plan. Our hotel was located on the beach. I spent four days hiking up and down about three miles of beach, rocks and hills. I found something new to shoot everyday. The wildlife was awesome, and there were some of the most interesting and unique abstracts I’ve encountered anywhere.
