The Outer Banks: More Sunrises on Corolla Beach

Day 4 gave me an amazing sun rise with a bank of clouds on the horizon. It resulted in the most spectacular golden color in both the sky and beach. The sun flares around the clouds were also beautiful. Day 5 was filled with amazing clouds. There were times when I looked at these cloud formations and just couldn't believe what I was seeing. Photographers aren't going to win any awards for photographs taken looking straight up at the clouds. For a lover of abstracts, it was near impossible not to do. As the morning progressed, the layers of grey clouds caused the ocean to take on a silver and grey sheen. I find this look so incredibly beautiful. The last thing I would expect is to have the water look a metallic silver, and when paired with the grey shaded layers of clouds, it is just stunning.

So simple and stunning. On Day 6, the car was packed and we were ready to start our trip back to Columbus. While Nancy was taking Pepper for one last walk on the beach, I had a chance to take a few shots. I love the silvery gold shimmer beach reflection.
